About Jane
Jane Moody is Professor of English at the University of York. She is the author of Illegitimate Theatre in London, 1770-1840 (Cambridge University Press, 2000), and co-editor of Theatre and Celebrity in Britain, 1660-2000 (Palgrave, 2005), and The Cambridge Companion to British Theatre, 1730-1830 (Cambridge University Press, 2007). Her wide-ranging research on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century theatre has been taken up beyond academia by users including the BBC, the Australian producers of the family history programme, 'Who do you think you are?', and by the British comedian Jan Ravens in her new one-woman show, 'A Funny Look at Impressions'.
